This 1971 Maxim-Pierce 75’ Snorkel fire apparatus was commissioned by the Munster (IL) Fire Department and kept in service until 2002, when it was transferred to the nearby fire department of Riverdale, Illinois before they subsequently donated it to the Hall of Flame in 2013.  Powered by a Cummins diesel engine driving a Hale fire pump, this apparatus can deliver 1,000 gallons per minute through the platform-mounted solid stream nozzle and has pump discharges for additional hose lines.   In addition to its powered aerial device and fire pump, the vehicle is fitted with a 200 gallon booster tank and carried its own attack and supply hose plus a complement of ground ladders making it a genuine quintuple or “quint” apparatus.
