1908 Pirsch Horse-Drawn Service Ladder Wagon

This Ladder Wagon apparatus was built to accommodate a wide range of ladders which matched the needs of the area which the rig would respond to. This rig also carried a variety of tools used for rescue work or searching for hidden fire hidden in the walls. They also had portable fire extinguishers and extra appliances.

This beautiful wagon was built by Pirsch Fire Apparatus Company of Kenosha, Wisconsin for the West Allis Fire Department. It was restored in 2000 by our staff and is now on display in Gallery 1.
