1940 American La France Model 575-CC Invader

This 500 series engine is exquisite in every way, influenced by the Art Deco period, coupled with style and class, yet revolutionary in design for firefighting of her time. A recent acquisition for our museum, she was formerly part of the historical American La France collection at the now closed North Charleston Fire Museum in South Carolina.
She has a 750 gpm split-pump, with suction behind the cab and discharge in front of the cab. She carries heavy suction hose, has a compact hose bed, ladder rack, and jump-seats behind the front bench seat. This engine could accommodate five firefighters inside her cab, which was not common for that era.
She’s fully mechanically operational, driving into Gallery 3 under her own power, where she now resides. Please come by and see this amazing piece of fire apparatus history at the Hall of Flame Museum of Firefighting.
