This apparatus has served four volunteer fire departments in the commonwealth of Virginia. It was first purchased for $28,335 by the Annandale Volunteer Fire Department in Fairfax County and served there until 1978 when it was purchased by the Middleburg Volunteer Fire Department in Loudoun County. In 1980 this engine was sold to the Rouss Volunteer Fire Department in Winchester, VA where is was painted green and ran as Squad-2 until 1984. It was then purchased by Clover Hill Volunteer Department in Rockingham County where it responded until its retirement in 1997.

After a 34 year career, the engine was eventually purchased by Mr. Frank Hoppes with the dream of restoring it to its original beauty, which ultimately took 5 long years. Mr. Hoppes, his son, and his daughter all served as volunteers on this engine while it was an active response unit.
